Astrology has steadily moved from traditional consultations into the digital economy, and AstroTalk is taking that shift to a new level. The Noida-based astrology and spiritual services platform has entered India’s unicorn club at a $1 billion valuation, following an ESOP-led share buyback that was funded through the company’s own profits and internal accruals rather than a fresh external funding round. According to Business Connect Magazine, more than 100 employees participated in the buyback, allowing eligible team members to monetise part of their ESOP holdings.
The milestone is particularly notable because AstroTalk has reached the $1 billion mark without relying on a new fundraising round to establish its latest valuation. Instead, the company’s growing revenues, profitability, and internal cash generation have played a central role in its latest step.
From a $300 Million Valuation to $1 Billion
AstroTalk’s latest valuation represents a significant increase from its previously disclosed valuation of around $300 million in 2024, according to the Business Connect post.
The company’s financial performance has also strengthened considerably. AstroTalk reported ₹1,176 crore in operating revenue in FY25, compared with ₹651 crore a year earlier. Its profit before tax rose sharply to ₹285 crore, up from ₹127 crore in FY24.
The growth has been supported by increasing engagement with its core astrology services, including online consultations with astrologers. The company operates on a revenue-sharing model with more than 20,000 active astrologers, while its user engagement increased by 27% year-on-year in FY25.
AstroTalk Looks Beyond Astrology Consultations
AstroTalk’s growth strategy is also moving beyond its core consultation business. The company has expanded into spiritual commerce through AstroTalk Store, offering products such as gemstones, rudraksha, bracelets, idols, and other spiritual and ritual products.
The e-commerce vertical generated more than ₹140 crore in revenue in 2025, after being launched only a year earlier. The company has set its sights on growing the vertical to around ₹400–500 crore in annual recurring revenue by FY27.
This expansion gives AstroTalk a broader consumer proposition—bringing together astrology consultations and physical spiritual products within the same ecosystem.
A Different Kind of Unicorn Story
What makes AstroTalk’s milestone particularly interesting is not simply the $1 billion valuation, but how it got there.
In an ecosystem where startup growth is often closely associated with successive funding rounds, AstroTalk’s latest milestone highlights a different path. The company has been able to generate significant revenue and profits while using its own cash flows to create liquidity for employees through the ESOP buyback.
Its earlier funding history also reflects this progression. AstroTalk last raised institutional capital in June 2024, when it raised around ₹117 crore at a pre-money valuation of ₹2,400 crore. The latest development therefore puts profitability and operational growth at the centre of the unicorn story.
AstroTalk’s evolution reflects a broader shift in how digital consumer businesses are building their ecosystems. What began primarily as an online platform connecting users with astrologers is expanding into a wider spiritual-tech and commerce business.
By combining consultations, spiritual products and plans for further ecommerce expansion, AstroTalk is attempting to build a consumer brand around the wider needs of its audience rather than remaining limited to one digital service. Its journey also demonstrates how a category rooted in tradition can find new scale through technology, digital distribution and consumer-focused commerce.
With its latest $1 billion valuation, AstroTalk has not only entered India’s unicorn club but also put a spotlight on a less conventional startup growth story—one driven by revenue, profitability, employee participation and internal capital rather than another fresh funding round.
